Snow Removal Information - What Residences, and Businesses Need to Know

Snow Removal Information - What Residences, and Businesses Need to Know

SNOW REMOVAL TIPS

If you shovel a small area of your parkway along the curb line and opposite the direction of traffic for approximately six to eight feet, less snow will be deposited at the end of your driveway when the plows widen the street from curb to curb.

REMEMBER TO SHOVEL SIDEWALKS

Heavy snowfall creates difficulties in keeping our streets, driveways, and walks clear of snow. Village ordinances require all property owners to clear snow from the public walk in front, side, or rear of their property. The Village receives numerous complaints regarding sidewalks that have not been cleared, causing hazardous conditions for pedestrians. Businesses are required to remove any accumulation of 2 inches or more, within 3 hours. Residents are required to remove accumulations of 2 inches or more within 24 hours. We appreciate your help in assuring the safety of your neighbors and customers by keeping the public walks clear.

PARKING DURING A SNOW EVENT

In addition to the regular Village parking restrictions that prohibit parking from 1am until 6am, there is no parking on any streets within Village limits during a snow event. Parking is not permitted until snow removal operations have been completed on streets or parkways outside the Central Business District when snow accumulation is over two inches. Parking is not permitted after 1am until snow removal operations have been completed on streets or parkways within the Central Business District when snow accumulation is over two inches. The Village asks you to park your car in your driveway once snow accumulation reaches two inches.
