| Village Government |
 |
| |
The Village of Barrington is a non-home rule municipality
which functions under the council-manager form of government
with a Village President and a six-member Board of Trustees who
act as the policy-making body and are elected at-large. Policy
recommendations are normally made by one of the four standing
committees that include Administrative Services/Finance; Planning,
Zoning, and Economic Development; Public Safety; and Public Works.
Day-to-day administrative functions are the responsibility of
the Village Manager, who is appointed by the Board.
If you have questions or need assistance regarding Village
services, please contact the appropriate department personnel
who will be glad to assist you. A department directory is included
as an attachment to this guide.

| Village Board Meetings |
 |
| |
The Village Board meets at 8:00 p.m. on the second
and fourth Mondays of each month at the Village Hall.
You may want to come to the Board meetings to learn about
Village issues or to comment on one of your concerns; an
open forum called "Citizens Registration" is scheduled
during each Board meeting for residents who wish to express
their opinions.
